Trona is a Oaxacan/Japanese inspired design cocktail bar located in Austin’s growing Eastside neighborhood. Born from a fascination with the intersection of two rich culinary cultures, Trona offers a transportive experience that blurs the line between a bar and an alternate dimension.
The Concept
Named after the naturally occurring mineral found in the desert, Trona draws inspiration from earth’s raw beauty and the traditions of Oaxacan mezcal culture and Japanese cocktail craftsmanship. The result is an atmosphere that feels simultaneously ancient and futuristic.
The Space
Every detail of Trona has been intentionally designed -- from the moody lighting and textured walls to the handcrafted furnishings and curated soundscapes. The interior invites you to slow down, disconnect, and immerse yourself in the moment.
The Craft
Our cocktails are a study in precision and creativity. Drawing from the bold, smoky flavors of Oaxaca and the refined technique of Japanese bartending, each drink is an experience in itself. We use house-made ingredients, rare spirits, and seasonal elements to create a menu that evolves with intention.
